Care

When you purchase furniture from us, you can rest assured that each piece has been crafted with exceptional care and attention to detail. Our team uses traditional techniques to ensure the furniture is strong and long-lasting. The natural features of the wood, such as knots, grain, and color variation, add unique character to each item. These finely made pieces will provide many years of enjoyment with proper care.

It is crucial to comprehend the unique characteristics of wood, which should not be viewed as defects. Wood shading and grain can vary from one piece to another and even within the same product due to the material's natural qualities. Knots are another natural feature of real wood furniture that does not affect its performance and can add character to each piece. When cut across the grain, medullary rays are also present in wood, producing fascinating features such as growth rings and flecks.

To extend the life of your purchases from Saba Furniture, we recommend the following:

CLEANING
  • To keep your furniture looking great, it's a good idea to dust it regularly using a soft cloth. If necessary, you can wipe the surface down with a damp cloth that has been lightly dampened with a mild detergent solution, but make sure to dry it off thoroughly with a lint-free cloth.
  • Our furniture is coated with Polyurethane, which makes it durable and long-lasting, but you should only use a damp cloth to clean it, as anything more abrasive could damage the coating.
  • Always make sure your cleaning cloth is free of dust or debris to avoid minor scratches on the surface.
  • If you have glass or mirrored panels on your furniture, use a non-solvent-based glass cleaner and a soft cloth to clean them, being careful to avoid contact with any wooden or painted sections.
  • Upholstered seats should be brushed or gently vacuumed regularly, and periodic cleaning is necessary to keep them looking their best and prevent fading and wear. Professional dry-cleaning services are also an option for upholstery care.
  • In case of spills, be sure to blot them immediately with a dry white cloth. If the spill has caused staining on fabric, we recommend contacting a dry cleaner who is equipped to handle such incidents.
CARE
  • To prevent damage to the frame or legs, it's best to handle the furniture carefully and avoid dropping it onto corners or feet. We suggest placing it on the floor or against the wall gently.
  • To ensure the longevity of your furniture, it's important to avoid leaning back on only two legs of a chair, as this can weaken the joints over time. Additionally, be mindful of sharp objects, such as toys, buckles, and heels, as they can cause damage to your furniture.
  • It's best to steer clear of any chemical substances, such as hair and makeup products, perfume, and the like since they could potentially impact the appearance of the finish.
  • If your furniture incurs any damage, such as stains, scratches, or chips, it is best to seek professional help to restore it to its original condition.
  • To ensure that your product performs at its best, following the guidelines is essential. Please note that any defects resulting from product misuse are not the responsibility of Saba Furniture.
SEASONAL MOVEMENT

Please keep in mind that natural woods may experience some movement due to changes in temperature and humidity throughout the year, which may make moving parts slightly stiffer to operate. It's important to avoid locating the products in excessively high or low temperatures or damp environments, as this may cause product issues. Solid wood furniture may develop some cracks on the surface when the season changes. We recommend keeping the furniture under a relatively stable temperature to avoid this.

LEVELING AND ASSEMBLY
  • For proper furniture functioning with doors, it is important to ensure that they are positioned on a level surface. This will ensure that the doors hang correctly and open smoothly.
  • Products with doors come with either adjustable hinges or wedges to square the doors if the floor is not leveled.
  • In case the doors fail to operate smoothly or the product is moved, it is important to re-check the leveling. Either re-adjust the doors or level the corners using any suitable packing material.
  • When moving products, it is recommended to have two persons lift them, as dragging items across the floor may cause damage to the joints.
  • It is advisable to dismantle large items assembled on-site from different sections before moving them to a new location. As for self-assembly products, it is best to assemble them at their intended location and handle them carefully when lifting them into position.
HEAT, COLD, AND SUNLIGHT
  • To maintain the quality and appearance of your furniture, it is advisable to avoid exposing it to excessive heat. Placing it in front of a radiator or a heater can cause cracking.
  • Additionally, direct sunlight can cause the color of wood to change, even if it is painted or lacquered. This change will be more readily apparent if the furniture is placed under a window.
  • Using table mats and coasters is best to prevent hot or cold dishes from being placed directly onto wooden or painted surfaces.
  • Using hot electrical equipment, like a laptop, on top of furniture for prolonged periods can cause scorching.
